Welcome to 5th & 6th grade Resource!
Although our room number has changed, we have quickly returned to the familiar hum of young minds at work! Each of your children has already learned that Room 4 is THEIR room! We Rock!
Our daily “schedule” includes both Language Arts and Math for both grades with a ‘push-in’ and a ‘pull-out’ method. Whatever projects, tests, or assignments that your child’s homeroom teacher assigns will be their work to complete. However, if at any time the workload becomes too much, we will modify the amount to keep it manageable.
NO STUDENT SHOULD BE HAVING ANXIETIES OVER CLASSWORK & HOMEWORK!
Studies have shown that smaller groups have proven more successful in academic environments. Knowing that, we encourage our students to come to room 4 during their Language Arts or Math time once their homeroom teacher has completed explaining the lesson. In room 4, we offer additional support, along with a quieter environment, for our students to work. The environment we try to create is one of openness, trust, and encouragement so the students feel free to ask questions when they might feel inhibited asking in the general classroom.
I am in daily contact with the Gen Ed teachers keeping tabs on how your children are doing outside of Room 4. We, as a team, will work very hard to do our best in making this a successful year.
Thank you,
Mrs. Eckhardt
